KENYANS HAVE THE CHANCE TO PLAY CRICKET AT LORDS

Young Kenyans have the opportunity to play cricket at the World famous Lords Cricket Ground in this year’s Inner City World Cup.

On August 7th the Lords Taverner’s Inner City World Cup is taking place. It is the most multi cultural tournament in the World. Some of the countries already confirmed are Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Bangladesh, South Africa, Barbados, England, India, Pakistan and Guyana.

The Inner City World Cup is organised by Opportunities Through Cricket and it celebrates the multi cultural city of London. Many of the players taking part in the Inner City World Cup have been selected through Opportunities Through Cricket’s Housing Estates coaching programmes.

Inner City World Cup organiser Andy Dalby-Welsh said “This is a unique tournament and an equally unique opportunity for young Kenyans to play at the legendary Lords Cricket Ground.”

The Inner City World Cup is a 16 team six a side tournament. Players must be 21 or under on the 7th August 2005 and must have either been born in or had a parent born in the country they are representing. The tournament takes place in the MCC Indoor School at the Lords Cricket Ground.
